We Are E presents: Arjuna Schiks

Every month We Are E puts one of her artists in the proverbial sun. In July the spotlight is fully focuses on Arjuna Schiks! This Amsterdam native has been producing since the age of 14 and is the most recent addition to the artist range of We Are E. Reasons enough to shine a big light on Arjuna!

Arjuna Schiks has joined the We Are family only 5 months, but already the coming summer looks extremely well for this young producer. Inspired by the German sound of artists such as Extrawelt, Einmusik, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Stimming and Rodrigues jr., he will be laying down his own sound for you on festivals such as A Day at the Park, Welcome to the Future and Costa del Soul.

The performances as mentioned above, didn’t just fall into his lap. His passion for music started at a very young age with listening to a variety in music like ‘New Age’ ambient, Nina Simone and Michael Jackson. He got acquainted with electronic music when he was just 14 years old and ever since he got the program Rebirth from a friend at 16, Arjuna started to produce and compose electronic music non-stop.

Over the years he has produced hundreds of tracks and Arjuna can be found in the studio more often than at home! Arjuna’s style varies from ambient, tech-house, electro to very pleasantly produced tracks influenced by classical music. With his distinctive and warm, melodious sound he is unique in The Netherlands and able to rock every dance floor!

You might know Arjuna because of his remix for Deadmau5, his releases on infamous labels such as Traum, Trapez and All is One, but also because of his track “Konijntje” (translated: Bunny) which he produced with Willie Wartaal (Dutch hip-hop/rap artist) under the alter ego “AKA the Junkies”. All in all, the oeuvre of Arjuna can at the least be called impressive!

The future has several new records in store. This summer amongst others on GEM Records, Manual Music, Team Records and 90 Watts.
